Centered on the lawless town known as Hell on Wheels that travels with and services the construction of the first transcontinental railroad, the series examines the railroad's institutionalized greed and corruption, the immigrant experience and the plight of the newly emancipated African-Americans during reconstruction.
Damian O'Hare joined the cast for the third season and will play Declan Toole, the brother of Eva's late husband Gregory. He comes from NY to follow traditions and marry his brother's widow and look after the baby, much to Elam's dislike.
